Religious leaders and monarch have become the recent targets for miscreants and urchins who wants to make money out of kidnapping. The report has it that Oba Clement Olukotun, the traditional head of Oso Ajowa- Akoko was abducted on Thursday, around 10:15, and was taken to an unknown Location.
According to a witness, they stormed the Oba’s apartment and fired some shots into the air to ward off people, and then they fired a shot at his door to create access into the Oba’s building. When they finally gained access, they entered and took the monarch to an unknown Location.
“The source said, “When they (hoodlums) got to the house, they surrounded the building and started ordering the monarch and other occupants to open the door and surrender willingly, but nobody answered. At this point, they started shooting.
“They destroyed the main door and entered. They terrorized Kabiyesi and his family members before dragging him out and taking him away. None of the family members had been contacted, but we knew they were kidnappers.”
The Ondo State Police Spokesperson, Mrs. Fumilayo Odunlami confirmed the incident and has said that investigations are being carried out on the issue.
