Operatives in Ogun State have apprehended an 84-year-old man by name, Stephen Jack for having unlawful carnal knowledge of an 8-year-old girl.
The police spokesman in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, remarked in Abeokuta on Saturday that the arrested suspect was residing in Okun Owa area of Ijebu-Ode and was a well-known pedophile before his arrest. Jack’s latest escapade had been reported to the police by the father of the victim who noticed that his daughter was bleeding from her private part.
Oyeyemi then added that upon interrogation, the victim told her father that Jack sexually assaulted her and that the victim had since been taken to the General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode for treatment.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Lanre Bankole, also ordered for Jack to be taken to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution and sentencing.
