The Nigerian police are currently looking into the petition by Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, over reported bullying and threat to her life by Grammy nominee, David Adeleke, aka Davido.
The Lagos State police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, made this statement on Wednesday, January 10 in Lagos.
In his words:
”I can confirm that we gotten the petition. Investigations have begun.”
Tiwa Savage’s petition dated on Tuesday, 9 January, addressed to the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Adegoke Fayoade, had accused Davido of making disrespectful remarks in reaction to an Instagram story post which included herself and the singer’s Baby mama, Sophia Momodu’s.
But what does Tiwa Savage’s police complaint against Davido say?
Listed below are some key quotes from Tiwa’s letter:
1. Mr David Adeleke [Davido] sent messages to Tiwa’s manager – who’s also part of his management team – saying that she shouldn’t worry and should never say a word to him and that she was taunting him. Davido also reportedly, made very disrespectful, malicious and derogatory words to Tiwa’s person.
2. He told their mutual connections to warn Tiwa to be careful in Lagos, followed by an expletive-ridden threat of violence.
3. Tiwa said in quote: “The actions of Mr David Adeleke are immoral and can be viewed as a direct threat to my right to life, privacy and dignity of my person. In the event that anything untoward or harmful were to happen to me or any member of my family, I would like the members of the Nigerian Police force to hold Mr. David Adeleke responsible.”
