President Tinubu Urges ECOWAS Unity Amidst Emerging Struggles

President Bola Tinubu advocates for enhanced cohesion among ECOWAS member states emphasizing the importance of regional solidarity to fortify the bloc’s resilience and efficacy.

This is in light of recent developments suggesting the formation of new ties with world powers outside the bloc, Speaking at the inauguration of the Sixth Legislature of the ECOWAS Parliament, President Tinubu, also serving as the Chairperson of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, underscores the critical need for member states to reject divisive forces and actively safeguard the community against disintegration threats.

Reaffirming Nigeria’s steadfast commitment to the aspirations of the community, President Tinubu highlights the pivotal role of the ECOWAS Parliament in advancing peace and prosperity for all member states, stressing the necessity of strengthened cooperation to address regional concerns effectively.

While acknowledging member states’ pursuit of opportunities amidst global challenges. It is imperative for the ECOWAS community to align it’s agenda with the economic growth aspirations of its members to secure their allegiance amidst external overtures.
