In Osogbo, the Osun State capital a truck conveying inmate to the State High Court, collided with a commercial minibus, injuring two persons on Thursday, March 30.
The incident immediately elicited violent protest in the community, as commercial motorcyclists and several irate youths blockaded the popular Olaiya Junction in protest.
Meanwhile, according to eyewitness reports, the correctional truck driver had refused to obey a traffic light that had signaled him to stop and, in the process collided with a minibus leaving the driver and one of the passengers injured.
Additionally, police officials have been drafted to the scene as at the time of writing this report and the protesters have been dispersed with teargas.
