Two women have been arrested by the Rapid Response Squad for attempting to sell a two-month-old baby.
This news was revealed by the state police command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin via the Nigerian Police Force’s Twitter page.
According to the tweet, the child abductors were caught in Oshodi, Lagos State, when the intermediary between the mother of the baby and buyer, named Oge Okolie, (25 years old), was almost lynched by passengers of a public bus, after they uncovered the fact that she was not the mother of the baby she was carrying.
Further investigations have revealed that Ms. Okolie was a negotiator between the mother of the child and the seller.
At the time of writing this report, the mother of the child, Maria Ahmadu has been nabbed and the case, transferred to the gender unit of the Command for further investigations before the suspects are arraigned in Court.
