Rashford signs on loan with Villa – and is driven to help them to Champions League glory
The England forward spoke about the move in his first interview on VillaTV, detailing his ambitions. “It’s an exciting time for this club and a great opportunity for me to come in and help them move forward,” Rashford said. “I’m really looking forward to my first training session and first game.”
Rashford said Villa’s manager, Unai Emery, was a “top manager,” and that his work since taking charge had been “unbelievable.” He does think his best will be getting back on Villa’s style of play.
“I had to pick a club where my football is fitting, where I can help the team and make progress myself as a player,” he said.
Rashford could join Villa permanently for £40 million. The forward declared his goals, including wanting to win the Champions League.
“We are still in the Champions League, and we want to go as far as we can. If you don’t aim to win it, you’re never going to win it,” Rashford added. “I can dictate games when I’m at my best.”
