Real Madrid CF has announced that Rodrygo has a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, which means he will miss the rest of the 2025-26 season. The 25-year-old felt some pain in his right knee during Monday’s loss to Getafe. This was his first game back since early February, after being out with injury and suspension.
The club’s medical exams showed he tore the ACL and lateral meniscus in his right leg. Madrid said in an official statement that after tests on their player Rodrygo, the Real Madrid Medical Services found he has a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament and the lateral meniscus of his right leg.

Rodrygo is going to miss Madrid’s last 12 LaLiga games, and the team is currently behind Barcelona at the top. He’ll also be out for their Champions League last-16 match against Manchester City, while also missing Brazil’s 2026 World Cup campaign with Carlo Ancelotti in charge.
The forward has been involved in eight goals over 30 games this season, but now he’s facing a long time out with an injury, which is a big setback for both his club and country.
