The Senate had on Wednesday, July 26, urged the Federal Government to partner with the Finnish Government and repatriate Simon Ekpa, a self-acclaimed Nnamdi Kanu disciple.
Note that Kanu is the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Ekpa has been revealed to be the head of Auto Pilot, a faction of the secessionist group that has continued to enforce the sit-at-home order in the Southeast region, leading to reduced economic activities in the area in those stipulated days.
The sit-at-home directive which is especially enforced on Mondays, has led to the death of numerous residents.
In light of all these, in condemning the unrest in the region, the red chamber had during its plenary on Wednesday, asked the federal government to ensure that Ekpa– a citizen of Finland is brought back to the country and made to face justice.
The Senate had additionally, resolved to invite the Minister of Foreign Affairs (whenever he/she is appointed) and related stakeholders to carry out a rigorous investigation and to bring the other sponsors of the unrest to book.
