Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Palestine on Gaza, with Israel refusing demands for a ceasefire, several nations have stepped forward to condemn Israel’s actions.
Turkey as one of the most vocal critics of Israel’s offensive in Gaza, with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denouncing Israel as a “terrorist state.”
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan echoed these sentiments on Monday, pledging retaliatory actions against Israel, emphasizing that they would be implemented gradually and without delay.
Turkey announced on social media that starting Tuesday, it would impose trade restrictions on Israel, targeting various products such as cement, steel, and iron construction materials. These measures are in direct response to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.
The trade ministry affirmed that these restrictions would remain in place until Israel agrees to an immediate ceasefire and ensures the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
This decision follows Turkey’s recent attempt to airdrop aid to Gaza, which was reportedly thwarted by Israel, further escalating tensions between the two nations.
