Rodri has backed up his recent remarks on a possible Real Madrid CF transfer by clarifying that his comments were misunderstood when taken out of context amid his widespread reaction.
The Manchester City FC midfielder essentially sparked a controversy by saying that he could not rule out joining the Spanish giants; on the contrary, he has now called on his critics to see his whole interview rather than just quoting isolated parts.
“I’m used to it, ” Rodri remarked after Spain’s 3-0 victory over Serbia. “If, from a long interview, they only take what they want, I can’t do much.”
He has been a favorite of Madrid, who want to find a midfield replacement after the departures of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, for quite some time.

He is not without his issues, given that he has only just recovered from a serious ACL injury, which sidelined him for last season. Domestic reports have indicated Madrid is keeping a close watch on Rodri’s performances before going ahead with the transfer.
Money will be a deciding factor as Rodri is highly likely to be a high earner, but the fact that he is entering the last year of his contract might decrease his transfer price.
Other alternatives, such as Enzo Fernández and Alexis Mac Allister, are amongst those being evaluated by Madrid as they determine their best options for the summer window.
