Nigerian singer Ruger has responded to circulating claims of a rift between him and senior colleague Davido.
The speculation arose after Ruger publicly praised Wizkid and expressed admiration for his fans, leading some of Davido’s supporters to accuse him of taking sides in the long-standing rivalry between the two Afrobeats stars.

One fan on X even suggested that Ruger’s career would stall until he publicly apologised to the DMW boss, writing, “When you’re ready apologize and beg Davido publicly, your song will enter No 1.”
Ruger fired back, questioning the basis of the claim: “And did Davido tell you I did anything wrong to him?”
In a follow-up post, the singer sought to clear the air, stating that he has no issues with Davido and believes the feeling is mutual. He added that he would not assume any conflict exists unless Davido directly communicates it to him.
“I love Davido and i know he loves me too. People on his team still repost my sht. I will never believe this agenda that he doesn’t fck with me except he says it to my face or publicly. But if him talk am, everywhere go first blur Sha,” Ruger wrote, emphasising that much of the speculation is unfounded.
