Tragedy strikes the camp of the Terenga Lions of Senegal, as their star player, Sadio Mane will be missing this year’s world cup in Qatar, starting this month, as he sustained an injury in Bayern Munich’s Tuesday night 6-1 win over Werder Bremen.
Initially Dino Toppmoller, Bayern Munich’s assistant coach assured fans that the injury was not that serious, Julian Nagelsman Bayern Munich’s coach also said that a scan will be needed to determine the extent of the injury.
“That’s an unpleasant spot, it radiates a bit into the muscles. I think he has to go to the X-ray to see if there is something there, because it is splintering easily. But I hope that nothing is wrong. I can’t say anything for sure yet.”
News came out today that Sadio Mane has been ruled out of the world cup tournament which starts November 20.
This is a big blow to the Senegal National team, considering that Sadio mane was very instrumental to their qualification for the world cup.
Senegal shares Group A alongside Netherlands, Ecuador and hosts Qatar.
