Ethel Aderemi, nee Ekpe, a veteran Nigerian actress has allegedly passed away.
According to reports, she died of cancer on Wednesday, February 8 in Lagos.
The Director General of the National Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, Dr Shaibu Husseini had been the one to announce her death via a post on Facebook on Wednesday night.
The post read:
“I have been reliably informed that Ethel Ekpe, the screen damsel that enraptured fans with her unique interpretation of the role of Segi in the defunct sitcom on Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, by Ken Saro Wiwa titled ‘Basi and Company’ has passed away.“The actress and eventually, a Pastor, will be greatly missed. My family in particular, will miss her because we named my second daughter Ethel, after her. Good night good woman.” The post concluded.
