Well-known Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, has publicly announced its support for the Enugu State Government in its attempt to end the Sit-at-home in Enugu effective from Monday 5th June.
The group had additionally appealed to all Biafra agitators to forgo the sit-at-home formerly imposed on the South-East region and to consider it cancelled.
Recall that the Enugu State Government had directed all government, business, and educational activities to resume activities this Monday, June 5, across the State.
In a statement made available to journalists on Sunday night, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, criticized the attempts by individuals it described as infiltrators, into the Biafra agitation to wreck Igbo land.
According to Nnabuike, it was depressing that several months after the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, cancelled the Monday sit-at-home after finding out about its devastating effects on the South-East economy, several enemies of Ndigbo had carried on with the act.
The Ohanaeze youths, had meanwhile urged the Enugu State Government to endeavour to release the agitators arrested in the State during the May 30 Biafra Day celebrations.
