The reports about an alleged swap between Manchester United’s Christiano Ronaldo and Napoli’s Osimhen have been circulating in the media for some days now. Osimhen’s agent, Calenda came out to debunk such rumors, stating that they are all fake reports. Luciano Spalletti Napoli’s head coach also stated that no negotiations of such sort were made, even though he would love to have Ronaldo on his team.
Today to further lay the issue to rest, Spalletti revealed that Osimhen has no intentions of leaving the club for Manchester United as he is very keen on playing in the UEFA champions league for Napoli.
According to Spalletti, Osimhen told his agent, that he wants to feature in the champions league for Napoli. He obviously carries the interest of his fellow teammates at heart, and having him on their team is one of the biggest decisions they ever made.
Osimhen gave his response, via his agent, saying he wants to play the Champions League and he wants to play it with this squad,” Spalletti was quoted by Football Italia.
“He cares about his teammates, he chases down opposition players to help out, and is a very strong focal point in attack. Having him at our disposal with that mentality is the best we could ask for.”
Osimhen was Napoli’s top goal scorer last season, with 14 goals to his name, in 28 league appearances. This season he already has two goals and one assist to his name in four appearances.
