The Nigeria music industry has been thrown into confusion following the mysterious disappearance of the controversial singer popularly known as Speed Darlington. His mother, popularly known as Queen, recently, in a viral video, emotionally pleaded with the Grammy-winning artist, Burna Boy, and his team to take responsibility for her son’s sudden disappearance.
The gateman for Speed Darlington told Queen, according to her, that Burna Boy went to his place with his boys and took her son away. In the video, a tearful Queen begged Burna Boy to release her son, going as far as falling on her knees. She explained that Speed Darlington had not been seen or heard in over four days since he released a video calling out Burna Boy and American rapper Diddy.
“Nigerians, please help me. My son, Speed Darlington, has been missing for over four days now after he made a video about Burna Boy and Diddy,” Queen cried in the video. “Burna Boy came to his house with his seven squad and police, and they arrested Akpi. Please, Nigerians, Akpi is my only son. Help me and beg Burna Boy to release my son.”
Although the incident has not been officially linked to Burna Boy, the internet is awash with speculations. Burna Boy himself tweeted some cryptic messages such as “Who’s missing?” and “7 is Real,” thereby fueling suspicion probably that he has something to do with Speed Darlington’s disappearance.
This story has left many Nigerians worried, fans have asked for answers and called on the authorities to investigate.
