Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro, has dismissed a viral report claiming he held Davido and Mayorkun responsible for a downturn in his music career.
The controversy began after a post from popular blog @Naija_PR on X alleged that Spyro said the 2018 remix of his song “Funke,” which featured Davido and Mayorkun, resulted in a career setback instead of the boost he expected.
The claim quickly sparked backlash, particularly from fans of Davido, who criticised Spyro for allegedly blaming the Afrobeats star for his struggles.
However, Spyro has publicly refuted the story. Taking to social media on Tuesday, he labelled the report as untrue and demanded it be taken down.
“This is false!!! I never said anything like this,” he wrote. “I give you 24 hours to take this down or be prepared to face the consequences.”
