Stakeholders have urged Nigeria’s president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ensure adequate school security, and to make quality basic and secondary school education in Nigeria his topmost priority when sworn in.
One of such stakeholders, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, the founder of Wellbeing Foundation Africa, and wife of the former Senate president, while stressing the importance of education in shaping the abilities, attitudes, and behaviors of a child, had acquiesced that the Nigerian education system has been hindered by different upheavals.
Saraki aired her opinion at the 2023 National Moment on Basic & Secondary Education, organized by Malala Fund, in collaboration with the Education Development Partners’ Group, in Abuja.
She concluded her talk by encouraging the incoming administration to be intentional about providing basic amenities for the girl-child.
