If we can recall, there were speculations that Steven Gerrard would soon be sacked from his position as Aston Villa’s manager and might be replaced with Rafa Benitez, ex Everton’s manager due to their poor form this season, as they rank 17th on the premier league table.
The speculations are now true as Gerrad was sacked on Thursday night after Villa suffered a Humiliating 3-0 defeat to Fulham.
The club thanked him for his time and dedication to the team, but they’ll have to let him go, considering that they might hit the Relegation zone if they don’t find a capable hand to help the club.
“We would like to thank Steven for his hard work and commitment and wish him well for the future,” a Villa spokesman said.
Villa fans were enraged by the defeat, as they jeered, booed, and sang brutal chants demanding that Gerrad be sacked
Speaking on this, Gerrard has said that he won’t let this make him quit football, he further admitted that he understands the plight of the fans as he too is frustrated about the whole thing
Reports have it that Mauricio Pochettino ex PSG manager is the best pick to replace Gerrard
