Nigerian aviation workers have threatened to shut down the country’s airports, as they enter the second day of their strike action if the Federal Government did not meet up with their demands.
This news is coming despite a statement by the Ministry of Aviation on Monday, April 17 asking the striking workers to suspend the industrial action that led to numerous air passengers being left stranded nationwide.
Recall that the aviation workers had commenced the strike after a meeting with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority ended in a stalemate.
The General Secretary Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical, and Recreational Services Employees, Sikiru Waheed, had additionally stated that the second day of the ongoing strike will be more effective as they were very serious about their demands.
