Taiwo Cole, the controversial husband to popular Nigerian actress and comedian, Wofai Ewa, has reacted to the news circulating on social media that his family rejected his marriage.
The distinguished Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, had released a statement on Saturday, May 4, denouncing the recent alleged traditional marriage between their son, and Wofai Ewa.
In the statement, the family denounced themselves from the union, saying that they were unaware of the marriage plans and had not given their consent nor supported it.
In reaction, Taiwo had taken to his official Instagram page to share his lovely wedding photos, with a caption that indicated that he found a good wife and did not regret it.
He wrote, “I found a good wife and there is no going back.”
His wife, Wofai was not left out as she had also posted cute pictures of their marriage, captioning it: “Let love lead.”
The Controversy:
Taiwo and Wofai’s marriage had caused an uproar on social media, especially after Taiwo’s parents put out that disclaimer, in what people have now regarded, as an attempt to shame Wofai publicly.
In similar news, Taiwo Cole has been the most talked about in this ongoing drama as several X users have tagged him a bully and abuser for his alleged behaviour while in secondary school.
The reported victims had expressed sympathy to Wofai for marrying an alleged abuser and bully.
Bottom Line:
While the claim that Taiwo Cole had been a bully and abuser while he was in secondary school has not been confirmed, it is a claim that should not be taken leniently. Due diligence should be done and if found guilty, he should apologise and make amends to the victims he’d abused.
On the other hand, if he is innocent of these allegations, the persons who made the allegations must be brought to book and face punishment for libel.
