The bodies of the kidnapped two wives and five children of the traditional ruler of Mutum-Biyu, Justice Sani Muhammed (rtd), in Gassol Local Council, have been recovered, according to the Taraba State Police Command.
Gunmen recently attacked the monarch’s Jalingo home and abducted his wives and children.
Their whereabouts have remained unknown since their kidnapping because the kidnappers have not spoken with the family.
Usman Abdullahi, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the news, saying, “It is true that the bodies of the monarch’s family have been found.”
He went on to say that eight members of the monarch’s family—two wives and six children—had been kidnapped.
He revealed that while one of the youngsters escaped from the kidnappers’ den, the others were slaughtered.
In addition, the monarch admitted that the decaying bodies of his two wives and five children had been discovered.
Members of the community who talked with The Guardian expressed disappointment that the state administration took no meaningful steps to rescue the victims.
As a result, they asked the Federal Government to send more security personnel to the council to avoid another catastrophe.
