The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has described Kaduna State Governor Nasir El- comment against the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) as reckless, unfit, and capable of damaging the country’s public institutions.

In a statement issued by its President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, yesterday, the congress voiced severe worry about El-Rufai’s remarks

El-Rufai had stated that establishing the National Industrial Court was one of Nigeria’s biggest blunders.

He listed cases in which the court purportedly released those suspected of corruption. He purportedly declared this in response to NICN’s decision in litigation between the state and some Kaduna State Government employees.

The labor movement called the governor’s claims against the National Industrial Court “spurious, spiteful, nasty, and biased” in a statement issued yesterday.

According to the NLC, the action demonstrates El-intolerance Ruf ai’s ignorance of basic judicial affairs.

According to the NLC, public service norms are expected to be followed by both the government and the employees in all circumstances.

It stated that labor standards and rules must be followed by all, including Mr. El-Rufai, and that hiring and firing workers like slaves have no place in a democratic system based on the rule of law.
