The summer transfer window is officially open, and top European clubs are making swift moves to reshape their squads.
Liverpool are the hot topic in the media as the multiple transfer deals are done. Ben Jacobs reports that the Reds plan to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz in a transfer record £116 million deal with add-ons. The German playmaker is set for a medical on Thursday. Moreover, David Ornstein says that Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah is reportedly in the process of pulling together a deal with Leverkusen that is worth over €45 million.
On the other hand, Arsenal apparently have obtained their long-term target in midfield, a deal slightly higher than the €60 million release clause of Martin Zubimendi that will be paid in instalments, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Gunners are also keeping an eye on Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.
Barcelona are still going forward in their effort to get Nico Williams. The Spanish club have already agreed on personal terms with the winger from Athletic Club and are sure that they will be able to pay the release fee.
On the other hand, Real Madrid’s rivals Atlético Madrid are willing to sell Ángel Correa to Mexican side Tigres, while Benfica are ready to pay €10 million for Bosnian full-back Amar Dedic.
Ajax officially gave a green light to the transfer of Liverpool goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros that comes on a loan basis and they also reached personal terms with Valladolid’s Raul Moro. Leeds United also do not sit still as they come close to signing Udinese’s Jaka Bijol.
On the rumours side, Bayern Munich are specifically mentioned to be interested in completing the team with Cody Gakpo and Kaoru Mitoma after the failure of the deal for Nico Williams, while Edin Džeko is going back to Serie A and is joining Fiorentina.
