U.S. President Donald Trump has released CCTV footage and images of the suspect linked to the shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.
The footage, shared shortly before the president’s media briefing, reportedly shows the suspect running into the ballroom of the Washington Hilton and bypassing a security metal detector as armed security personnel moved in to intercept him.
Trump also posted images showing a shirtless man lying face down in a foyer with his hands restrained behind his back, said to be the suspected gunman.

Describing the individual, the president referred to him as a “would-be assassin,” adding that he was heavily armed and managed to breach a key security point before being stopped by law enforcement.
Citing reports from BBC, Trump said the suspect “charged past a security checkpoint” while carrying multiple weapons.
He also disclosed that a law enforcement officer was shot during the incident but survived because he was wearing a bulletproof vest.
The shooting occurred on Saturday night during the high-profile White House Correspondents’ Dinner, sparking panic and prompting the evacuation of government officials, journalists, and guests.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect is now in custody, while investigations continue into the motive and how the security breach occurred.
