US President Donald Trump has called for patience in the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, saying American officials should focus on getting a proper agreement.
In a post shared on Truth Social on Sunday, Trump described the discussions as positive and progressing smoothly.
“The negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner,” he wrote.
“Both sides must take their time and get it right. There can be no mistakes!”
Iran also reacted to the latest talks, with foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei saying several issues under discussion had already been resolved.

However, speaking during a press briefing in Tehran on Monday, Baqaei cautioned against expectations of an immediate agreement.
“No one can claim that the signing of an agreement is imminent,” he said, adding that “political behaviour in the US has become somewhat inconsistent”.
He explained that Iran remains focused on securing the best possible outcome for the country during the negotiations.
Meanwhile, Marco Rubio disclosed that both countries are currently working toward a “memorandum of understanding” that could provide a framework for settling unresolved matters between them.
Rubio, who spoke during a visit to India on Monday, described the negotiations as ongoing.
“We’re either going to have a good agreement or we’re going to have to deal with it another way,” he said.
Although details of the proposed agreement remain unclear, reports suggest it could involve the gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and begin a 60-day process aimed at resolving other major concerns, including Iran’s nuclear programme.
Baqaei, however, maintained that Tehran would not discuss nuclear-related matters within that proposed timeframe.
The United States has repeatedly stated that one of its main objectives is to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and weaken its nuclear capacity.
Iran, on the other hand, has consistently denied seeking to build nuclear arms.
