South African singer Tyla has been named winner of the ‘Outstanding International Song’ award at the 2026 NAACP Image Awards, adding yet another major accolade to her growing list of achievements.
The NAACP Image Awards, organised annually by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, honour outstanding accomplishments by artistes of colour across music, film, television, and literature.
Tyla’s win in the category came amid stiff competition from top Nigerian artistes. Burna Boy was nominated for his song “Love,” Davido for “With You” featuring Omah Lay, and Tiwa Savage for “You4Me.” Jamaican singer Skip Marley was also in the running with “In Our Sight.”

This achievement follows Tyla’s recent triumph at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where she won the ‘Best African Music Performance’ award, once again surpassing Nigerian stars including Wizkid and Ayra Starr, as well as Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin.
Tyla first gained international recognition in 2024 when she secured her debut Grammy, defeating a similar lineup of Nigerian heavyweights, and she has continued to cement her reputation as one of Africa’s fastest-rising global music stars.
