A teenager in the U.K has just died when her dad ran her over twice with his car over an alleged family break-up. The murder trial began as Nigel Malt, the murderer, refuted killing his 19-year-old daughter, Lauren Malt, outside their house at West Winch, Norfolk in the UK where she lived with her mum and siblings.
He had first threatened the deceased’s boyfriend before reversing the vehicle and killing her in the process according to the court jury. The 44-year-old had been estranged from his family. The court had granted Mr. Malt bail on the condition that he would stay and not go close to his wife’s place and her workplace after the wife had filed for assault in April 2021.
However, on 23rd January, he arrived at his wife’s house at Leete Way but nobody answered the door after which he drove to his wife’s workplace where he placed 19 phone calls to her home where, unfortunately, Lauren and her boyfriend were, before went there.
Andrew Jackson, the prosecuting lawyer added that Mr. Malt threatened Lauren’s boyfriend with a crowbar before he backed up his car and knocked down his daughter. According to the barrister, “He knocked his daughter to the ground and then backed up the car on her head after which he stopped and drove the car forward, running over the daughter’s body.” It was revealed that this was what killed Lauren Malt citing the autopsy which revealed wounds, lacerations, and crushing injuries to her head, shoulder, arms, and legs.
