The United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the commencement of exceptional flight operations at UAE airports to assist passengers stranded due to recent regional developments.
The UAE had previously closed its airspace, prompting Qatar Airways to suspend all flights after Iran launched missile attacks on United States military bases across the Middle East. Dubai airports also shut down indefinitely, while several international carriers temporarily halted operations to and from the region.
In a statement on Monday, the GCAA said flights will operate according to schedules communicated by airlines to affected passengers.

“The Authority urges passengers whose flights have been impacted not to proceed to airports until they have been contacted and notified of their flight timings and details by their respective airlines, in order to avoid congestion and ensure smooth processing,” the statement read.
Dubai Airports also confirmed a limited resumption of flights from Monday evening, with operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).
“Travellers are advised not to proceed to DXB or DWC unless they have been contacted directly by their airline with a confirmed departure time,” Dubai Airports said.
Similarly, Abu Dhabi Airports announced the partial resumption of services at Zayed International Airport (AUH), in coordination with airlines and relevant authorities. Passengers were advised to confirm flight status before travelling to the airport.
Emirates Airlines said it will operate a limited number of flights starting Monday evening, prioritising customers with earlier bookings. “Passengers rebooked onto the flights will be contacted directly and were advised not to travel to the airport without confirmation,” the airline said.
Flydubai also confirmed it will operate a limited number of flights later in the day, easing travel disruptions for affected passengers.
