Well-known Radio Station, Wish FM 99.5 and Atlantic Television Network in Ozuoba, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have reportedly been ambushed by gunmen armed with explosive devices purported to be dynamited.
The incident, which happened around 8:40 pm, on Tuesday, February 21 had led to the destruction of a few pieces of equipment and properties.
The two media outfits are owned by a member of the House of Representatives, Chinyere Igwe, who is an outspoken supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Meanwhile, when contacted on Wednesday morning, Igwe confirmed the disturbing attack saying that she was grateful that no casualties were recorded both during and after the attacks.
But, as of the time of writing this report, the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, is yet to confirm the incident.
