United Airlines announced that it will begin testing Elon Musk’s Starlink internet service on its flights in February 2025. These initial tests will start with Embraer E-175 aircraft, while the ultimate intent is to install Starlink on the entire regional fleet by the end of 2025. By the end of this year, the airline anticipates having some planes operational on Starlink that will fly on important routes.
Soon all United flights will feature Starlink satellite internet service owned by SpaceX. However, the airline has changed its previous approach to free internet access, which featured free wireless service on all flights: Under the new terms, only MileagePlus members will enjoy free onboard internet.
