We Didn’t Play A Good Game But We Won- Mourinho Laments on Roma’s win against Leece

Mourinho, Roma’s manager, is not impressed with his players’ performance on Sunday’s Match against Leece, as he returned to his position after he was suspended for a slight altercation he had with a referee.

Chris Smalling scored the first goal for Roma, after receiving an assist from Lorenzo Pallegini Unfortunately for Leece Moten Hjulmand was issued a red card, which caused a reduction in Leece’s numerical strength. This didn’t affect their performance on the pitch as Gabriel Strefezza after being set up by Samuel Umitit scored an equalizer for Leece.

Paul Dybala, scored another goal for Roma after he was awarded a penalty.

Speaking on his team’s performances, Mourinho stated that it was not a pleasant game for him, as he earnestly wished for the game to end soon. Due to his players’ poor form, Mourinho blamed on fatigue caused by their last match

He further admitted that he was highly disappointed in his team’s performance, but he’s also happy that they’ve won. He said, “I don’t remember so many 11v10 games in my career and I was hoping to finish soon. Physical fatigue yes and also a little mental. Thursday-Sunday is tough, when I see Atalanta-Udinese it’s clear that they don’t play during the week.

“Today we didn’t play a good game but we won, with Atalanta well but we lost. Tiredness is important but we need to manage it better.”

He added, “We are happy for the victory, we can play better but the three points were too important today.

“We have created many chances but the goals will come. We all have to improve and work.
