American hip-hop icon Trevor Smith Jr., popularly known as Busta Rhymes, has revealed plans to eventually move to Nigeria and possibly start a family there.
The 53-year-old rapper shared the revelation while performing at the Detty December Fest in Lagos over the weekend, where he spoke candidly about his long-standing connection to the country and his future plans.
According to Busta Rhymes, Nigeria holds deep significance for him, noting that it took him 15 years to finally make the trip, which he described as “special.”

Midway into his set, the rapper told the crowd he is already considering settling in the country after stepping away from active music.
“I’m looking for a home here, I’m looking for property. I’m thinking about looking for a wife so that when I stop working, I can settle down here,” he said.
The veteran rapper, who has never been married, is a father of six children from four different women. He added that Nigeria is a place he can see himself building a peaceful life once his career slows down.
His comments have since sparked reactions online, with many fans welcoming the idea of the hip-hop legend making Nigeria his future home.
