Rio Ferdinand, an ex-Manchester United player, has advised Manchester United not to let the players go, since he still has one season left with them. He believes Ronaldo is a rare gem, and if old Trafford loses the player to another club, it will be difficult to find a suitable alternative to replace him.
According to him, Ronaldo is a skilled and experienced player that does not need to be introduced to the game at halftime as he can play 45 minutes straight up. He added that it would be Manchester United’s loss if they let him go, who would score 24 goals for them?
“For a player, the worst thing for you to do is sit on the bench and come on in a game.”
You start him, tell him “you’re going to play 45 and do what you do”. He would’ve [had 45 minutes in him].
“He’s experienced enough to pace himself through a game. You’ve got to trust these guys.”
Ferdinand then argued: “Man United is never letting him go right now. Where are they going to find 24 goals?
“Don’t have the conversation, you’re not going anywhere.”
Manchester United is going through a tough time, as their opener of the game didn’t go well at all, Erik Ten Hag might just have to find a way to strengthen his attacking squad. As last season was a disaster for them, we hope that this season would not end up a disaster too.
