The Nigerian Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon has refuted the rumours making the rounds across the country, saying that he died on Monday, October 9.
The death rumour had been trending on all social media platforms in the country, with several citizens publishing their think pieces about Gowon on the internet.
However, the Former General’s personal media aide, Adeyeye E. Ajayi had in a curt statement he made on Monday night, announced that that the ex-military leader was still alive.
According to the Ajayi, Gowon had remarked:
“I am still around and well. I am not in a hurry [to die].”
