Before the May 29 inauguration, the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, provided 14 names of distinguished Nigerians who would serve on the Presidential Transition Committee.
The committee has been tasked with organizing the weeklong inauguration ceremonies that will usher in Tinubu and his vice president-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, as the country’s president and vice president on May 29.
Six weeks before the ceremony of handing over, Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of Federation, revealed this in a letter.
A few weeks ago, the president-elect named former Lagos Finance Commissioner Wale Edun and Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu to the committee.
The spokesperson for the Tinubu-Shettima presidential campaign, Bayo Onanuga, will lead the PTC’s 14-member list as head of media and publicity, while Senator Abubakar Kyari, the All Progressives Congress’s current acting National Deputy Chairman (North), will coordinate and oversee the committee’s finances and budget.
Col. Abdulazeez Yar’Adua, the younger brother of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who was chosen to lead the inauguration’s ceremonial march and security, is also included on the list.
