The All Progressives Congress has been instructed to provide the zoning formula for the National Assembly, particularly the Senate, as soon as possible, according to Senator Theodore Orji, a former senator from Abia Central and two-time former governor of Abia State.
He said that by doing this, the parliamentarians would be better able to select their candidate from the available candidates.
As a member of the Board of Trustees, University of Ibadan Alumni, Orji spoke with the press after receiving an honor.
The association’s president, Professor Gabriel Nyityo, gave him the honor in his office.
According to National Assembly customs and traditions, the ruling party is anticipated to create the majority leadership for both chambers because it has so far won the most seats.
However, the APC’s refusal to reveal the zoning formula on time has continued to fuel political squabbles, disputes, and discussions about the 10th Assembly’s leadership.
Some of the senators vying for the Senate presidency include Jibrin Barau (Kano Central), Sani Musa (Niger East), Ali Ndume (Borno South), Orji Kalu (Abia North), and GodsWill Akpabio (Akwa-Ibom NorthWest).
Orji pointed out that to take the proper action, the APC must first announce the zoning of the leadership.
