Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has criticized his family for meddling in his marriage, claiming that their actions have led to his wife, Natasha Osawuru, receiving death threats.
His statement comes after members of his family submitted a petition to the inspector-general of police, accusing Natasha of assault, bigamy, and financial misconduct.
The petition alleged that she attacked 2Baba in the UK and Abuja and withheld personal items, including his passport.
In a video now circulating widely online, 2Baba dismissed his family’s claims, insisting that their attempts to “save” him are instead causing severe damage to his life and to Natasha’s reputation.

“I’m a grown man, and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with,” he said, stressing that he is “perfectly okay” and even performed recently in Abuja.
He continued, “I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with. My family, who claim they want to save me, have actually destroyed me and damaged someone’s daughter’s character. Natasha is getting death threats right now.”
2Baba admitted that the couple had a disagreement but insisted it was nothing unusual.
“Yes, Natasha and I had a quarrel, which is normal between couples, but this is getting out of hand… How do you say you are trying to save someone while messing up my life? This is unacceptable.”He went on to say his family’s interference was similar to what happened with his former partner, Annie.
“We all have our differences, but this has become dangerous… Natasha is getting death threats, and they have ruined her whole life.”
Describing the allegations in the petition as “fabricated lies and stories,” he expressed deep frustration and emotional exhaustion. He said he would reveal more details publicly in the coming days.
The singer pleaded for an end to the harassment:
“This has to stop. I beg everyone to have some human conscience and stop the death threats and harassment… I also want to tell my family to stay out of my private and personal life. Just let me be.”
The controversy intensified after his former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, appeared on Daddy Freeze’s livestream, where they accused Natasha of trying to take “full control” of 2Baba’s finances and career.
2Baba abruptly joined the live session, demanding they stop discussing his private affairs, but moments later, a heated argument between him and Natasha was heard off-camera before the broadcast ended abruptly.
He concluded his message by emphasizing that he is hurt, stressed, and frustrated by the situation, urging everyone involved to stop adding to the chaos and let him live peacefully with his wife.
