Actor and self-declared cleric Yul Edochie has attributed the rise in premature deaths among Nigerians to the shift away from traditional customs toward Western influences.
He urged Nigerians to return to their cultural roots and adopt traditional spiritual practices, emphasizing that this could help reduce untimely deaths.
On Instagram, Yul Edochie wrote, “Untimely death has become rampant in our society. It’s happening bcos majority of us have abandoned our traditional ways and embraced the ways of the white man.”
He encouraged people to embrace indigenous traditions, noting that becoming a traditionalist offers clear spiritual guidance on what to do and avoid.
“Go home and embrace our traditional ways. As a traditionalist, you’ll be fully enlightened on the dos and don’ts of spirituality,” he advised.
He concluded, “If you keep to it judiciously, untimely death will never be your portion.”
