Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has proclaimed an eight-day school break to
allow the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to use the schools as
collation centers for the general elections.
The holidays scheduled between Thursday, February 23, and Wednesday, March 1,
2023, he claims, will also allow workers and eligible students to exercise their civic
rights in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The holidays would be extended from March 9 to 15 for the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections, he noted.
