At least 146,913 domestic and international observers are being deployed for the 2023 general election.
The Chairman of, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made the revelation at the INEC briefing for observers of the 2023 general election in Abuja on Tuesday, 21 February 2023.
According to Yakubu, this confirmed number of observers will be the largest in the history of the country.
Meanwhile, the commission had accredited 196 national and domestic organizations that have deployed 144,800 observers and 33 international organizations that additionally deployed 2,113 observers.
The election observers had meanwhile been asked to abide by the laws of Nigeria while discharging their duties on election day.
