15 Dead Bodies Recovered from Flooded Borno State Ngadabul River.

The North East Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency -NEMA, Muhammad Usman, has announced that at least 15 dead bodies had been recovered from a flooded Ngadabul River in Maiduguri, Borno State on Wednesday.

Usman had made the confirmation in a statement on Thursday, adding that the victims had drowned in the flooded river that had affected several communities along its banks in Maiduguri last weekend.

“On Wednesday, we recovered 15 bodies from the flooded River Ngadabul which affected a lot of communities along the river banks. NEMA, as a disaster agency has been involved in a serious sensitization of the public on the risks of flooding and the precautionary measures to take. We have been having meetings with various stakeholders on sensitization and providing relief materials to the affected communities.”

“Parents and guardians should caution their wards and children against swimming in the river to avoid drowning,” Usman had finished the statement with a warning.
