Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Period-tracking apps have become increasingly popular among women in recent years. With the help of technology, these apps can provide accurate information about menstrual cycles and fertility windows. This information can be extremely helpful for women who are trying to conceive or simply want to keep track of their periods. These apps may not be appropriate for individuals with “irregularly irregular cycles,” which refers to those who experience sporadic periods.

In this article, three women share their favourite period-tracking app and why it is highly rated. Here is a quick delve into the five most-rated period-tracking apps.

Clue

According to Clue, the app can educate you about your body. The app allows you to track various bodily functions during your menstrual cycle, such as breakouts caused by your period or headaches associated with PMS, making it a highly credible option. It uses an algorithm to predict when your next period is due, based on the data you provide. Clue also tracks other symptoms, such as cramps, headaches, and mood swings, and can provide insight into how they relate to your menstrual cycle.

Bisola, 28, thinks the Clue app is highly underrated. “Hunnay!  This app is super wonderful. I am shocked at how highly underrated it is. It is the aptest period tracking app ever. I started using Flo because of how popular it is, but I had to stop using the app because of the inaccuracies. It just wasn’t right for my irregular cycle. But the Clue app has been great with its predictions and recommendations. I don’t only get notified about my PMS but also get free tips on how to manage the symptoms.”

Clue is available for free on both iOS and Android.

Flo

Chances are, you are familiar with the Flo app even if you don’t use it yourself, as it has gained widespread popularity. Millions of users access the app daily to track their ovulation and period symptoms, utilizing the data to generate informative graphs that detail their bodily changes and timing. These graphs can be helpful when discussing any concerns about your reproductive cycle with your doctor, even if everything seems normal. It provides information on fertility, ovulation, and pregnancy, as well as a range of health insights based on your data. Flo also has a community section where users can connect and share information.

Nassibath, 24, rates the Flo app as the best period tracking app she has ever used. “This app is magical, wallahi. I wouldn’t have been able to keep accurate track of my cycle without the app’s guide. It informs me about my ovulation, when I am most fertile, and even explains why I would be getting a headache or back pain.”

Flo is available for free on both iOS and Android.

MyFlo

The MyFlo app is unique and versatile as it offers more than just period tracking and is particularly useful for women with irregular menstruation, those starting menopause, or those experiencing unexplained cycle symptoms such as bloating, migraines, constipation, or low energy.

The app uses a holistic approach to convert the data provided into valuable insights about overall health and help you understand how your menstrual cycle affects other areas of your health, such as digestion, energy, and mood. It can also help identify potential hormone imbalances and recommend lifestyle changes such as dietary adjustments and specific activities to engage in that could improve how you feel during different phases of your cycle.

Mayowa, 28, calls the MyFlo app a lifesaver. “Having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome [PCOS] makes it uncertain for me to predict when my next period will happen. I could go a month without bleeding. That is also coupled with a lot of hormonal reactions. This app has helped me to understand my cycle better and that has improved the communication I have with my gynaecologist because I can comfortably talk about my experiences without feeling lost or confused.”

MyFlo is available for a monthly subscription fee on both iOS and Android.

Disclaimer: It isn’t advisable to rely on a period tracking app if your cycle is constantly irregular and you haven’t received a diagnosis from a gynaecologist. You should visit a medical professional to help you understand the problem and ways to solve it.

Period Tracker

Period Tracker is a simple, user-friendly app that allows you to track your period and other symptoms, such as headaches and cramps. It also has a notes section where you can record additional information, such as sexual activity and medication use. Period Tracker is available for free on both iOS and Android.

Eve

Eve is a period-tracking app that also offers diverse features related to sexual health and wellness. It includes information on birth control, STI testing, and sexual health resources. Eve also has a community section where users can connect and share information. Eve is available for free on both iOS and Android.

Final Notes

Period-tracking apps have revolutionized the way women manage their menstrual cycles. With features like personalized reminders, cycle predictions, and symptom tracking, these apps allow women to take control of their reproductive health and make informed decisions about their bodies.

Furthermore, many period-tracking apps offer a community platform where women can share their experiences, connect with other users, and receive support and advice from healthcare professionals. This not only creates a sense of community but also encourages a more open and informed conversation around menstrual health.

Additionally, period-tracking apps can help identify irregularities in menstrual cycles, such as missed periods, longer or shorter cycles, or changes in flow. This information can be valuable for women seeking medical advice or treatment for conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, or infertility.

In Conclusion, period-tracking apps provide a convenient and accessible way for women to monitor and manage their menstrual cycles. With the help of these apps, women can optimize their health, improve their overall well-being, and make informed decisions about their reproductive health.
