A stage erected for an outdoor concert in Mexico City tragically collapsed on Thursday afternoon, resulting in injuries to seven individuals, as confirmed by local authorities.
The city’s Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection reported that the stage collapse occurred due to powerful gusts of wind.
These strong winds caused a significant metal structure that formed an integral part of the concert stage to give way and collapse. The incident unfolded at an outdoor venue that was prepared to host a musical event in commemoration of Mother’s Day celebrations.
Following the stage collapse, emergency response teams swiftly arrived at the scene in Mexico City. These teams provided immediate medical attention on-site to the injured individuals.
The secretariat further stated that two of the seven people injured in the Mexico City stage collapse required further medical care and were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.
