The governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, has won the re-run ticket to contest for governorship under his party, the people’s democratic party.
Seyi Makinde won with a landslide victory against Azeem Gbolarumi, his opponent in the primaries. The Oyo state governor got a total of one thousand and forty (1040) votes from delegates while his opponents just got two (2) votes from the delegates
Seyi Makinde however thanked those who had voted and said he was moved by the amount of support he had gotten from the delegates. He urged them to support him in winning the governor position again in the 2023 elections.
