Professor Ibrahim Adamu Yakasai, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Returning Officer for the Tudun Wada/Doguwa House of Representative election held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, has confessed that he declared the election results under duress.
The university Vice Chancellor had confessed a letter to the state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner on Wednesday, March 8.
Recall that Professor Yakasai had previously announced that Doguwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled a total of 39,732 votes, the winner of the House of Reps election in the constituency, beating Yushau Salisu Abdullahi of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), who polled 34,798 votes.
