The blue tick (verification badge) has always been a thing of honor for social media handlers, as it is earned and not bought, however, Elon Musk brought out a new rule when he purchased Twitter, that the verification badge will be paid for monthly for $8, and any subscriber with the verification that does not pay, will lose the badge.
Elon Musk however true to his promise, as non paying account with the blue tick lost it on Thursday, many celebrities vowed not to pay, report has it that only a small fraction of subscribers with the blue tick subscribed.
It seems Elon Musk finally bowed to pressure as some of the non-paying accounts with the blue tick got their verification badge on Saturday, and a couple of celebrities and important personnel got their verification badge.
Elon Musk, tweeted on Friday, that he paid for some people personally.
