Get ready for a major shakeup at the highest court in the land! Next week, eleven brand new Supreme Court justices will be sworn in, bringing the total number to the full, constitutionally mandated twenty-one. This expansion, requested by President Bola Tinubu and approved by the Senate in December, promises to change the landscape of Nigerian law for years to come.

But amidst the pomp and ceremony, whispers of concern hang in the air. Who are these new faces? Will they bring fresh perspectives or simply uphold the status quo? And, perhaps most importantly, will they stand for justice, or succumb to the temptations of corruption that have long plagued the legal system?

One thing is certain: the eyes of Nigeria will be on these new justices. Their decisions will shape the fate of millions, impacting everything from human rights to economic policies. Will they serve justice, or will they just become small, unimportant parts of the same old system? Only time will tell.
