Following increased tension in the Middle East between Israel and Iran, Israeli authorities reported that two unmanned aerial vehicles from Lebanon carrying explosives exploded in northern Israel on Tuesday, causing light injuries to three people.
The Israeli military stated that the armed drones crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory and exploded in the Beit Hillel area in the Galilee region. Three individuals sustained minor injuries, according to Israel’s state-owned Kan news network.
The drones did not trigger air raid sirens, and the military said the incident is under review.
With this second attack on Israel, the country is expected to take decisive actions to assert its sovereignty. The future of the Middle East appears uncertain with the looming threat of war.
In response, the Israeli ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor, announced a counter-attack on Iranian military facilities. Prosor stated that Israel’s response would target the military facilities of the mullahs and ayatollahs.
He emphasized Israel’s commitment to react, underscoring the importance of clear deterrence for regional stability. Prosor also urged Israel’s allies to support its position and impose stricter sanctions on Iran.
While Israel listens to its allies, Prosor stated that Israel had to react to Iran’s unprovoked attack, which involved firing over 300 rockets, cruise missiles, and drones at Israel over the weekend. This attack was claimed to be retaliation for a suspected Israeli strike on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria that resulted in the deaths of two Iranian generals and five officers.
Israel and its allies successfully intercepted almost all the incoming fire, preventing further damage.
